Felling Concert Choir began life as Felling and District Gilbert & Sullivan Society under the musical directorship of Bill Marley.
The aim of the Society was to present complete performances of G & S operettas. In 2004 it was decided to cease performing complete Gilbert & Sullivan works
and to concentrate on the classics, jazz, folk, modern and much more in the programmes - hence the change of title. The choir, however, remains faithful to
G & S with regular selections in concert programmes.
The choir perfoms 5 or 6 concerts per year to raise money for verious charities.
Elaine Marley took over as Musical Director in 2005.
Philip Chapman became the choir's accompanist in 1994.
Felling Concert Choir is also a member of The National Association of Choirs, North East, and took part in concerts at the Sage Gateshead in 2015 and 2016.
Our members come from a number of areas in the North East, Felling, Gateshead ,Whickham, Sunniside, Newcastle, Washington, Choppington, Chester-le-st and Stockton on tees.
The Choir meets every Wednesday at 7.30pm in Felling Methodist Church Hall and would welcome new members.
